"We invite people to discover a beautiful part of Canada -
through their eyes, and through our eyes."

DENNIS DRYGEESE
ŁUTSËL K’É DENE FIRST NATION
As the keepers of Thaidene Nëné, we the Łutsël K’é Dënesųłıné have the responsibility to act as stewards of the land and as hosts to visitors.

Thaidene Nëné extends around and beyond the shores of the East Arm of Tu Nedhé (Great Slave Lake)., in the NWT, covering more than 6.5 million acres. It is not just spectacular, but has great cultural and ecological importance.

The area covers the transition from boreal forest to tundra, and includes the deepest freshwater lake in North America, spectacular cliffs and waterfalls, and magnificent paddling rivers including the Snowdrift, Lockhart, and headwaters of the Thelon. Thaidene Nëné is home to grizzly bears, wolves, muskox, birds, fish, and some of the last free-ranging herds of barren-ground caribou.

Nuwe néné, nuwe ch'anıé yunedhé xa (Our land, our culture for the future).

We’re working with our partners to permanently protect Thaidene Nëné—part of our
huge and bountiful homeland around and beyond the East Arm of Tu Nedhé.
